So, books only get known through advertisement, but advertisement costs money, it is an investment in itself. Considering what you said about the pain you are in, I don’t know how you are a fan of soccer:) but, as you know, i always wish you well, and of course, take it easy

I don’t think you’re being a traitor at all, nor are you letting anyone down (including yourself). We as authors have so many choices these days for publishing – this is a wonderful time for us, as much as it is so competitive and challenging to get us ‘out there’. More authors, even established, best-selling authors, are combining self-publishing and traditional publishing outlets, according to what they want to achieve with a particular book – and I think that is wonderful!
